Practical & Current

Our software development courses are backed up by over 20 years experience in professional software engineering and training.

Qualified

With professional training qualifications and over 20 years software engineering experience (including senior roles at industry-leading businesses), you can expect to receive the highest quality level of training. We have personally attended enough poor or average courses to know how not to do it!

Tailored

Every department/developer is different, so we will tailor the course to your needs. Each course comprises modules that may be mixed and matched. The location can be onsite, or at a fully-specced venue nearby. We can supply all equipment and refreshments. We also provide one-to-one online tuition.

Interactive

Because the best way to learn is through trial and error, all our courses are fully interactive using online TrueBit labs. Each module includes hands-on exercises to challenge and stretch you, ensuring you fully grasp it before progressing to the next. All carefully created in-house material can be taken away.

Up-to-Date

Course content and tools are regularly reviewed to ensure they adhere to the latest paradigms and versions as used by professional software engineers today. Our focus is always on the practical, so as a guiding principle we avoid using the very latest "bleeding-edge" experimental tech.

Each course comprises modules, and each module has a nominal duration of 90 minutes. We offer the following default format and schedule, which may be customized to your requirements.

Programmed, Interactive Training

Following established pedagogical research and our own professional experiences, we practice programmed training techniques that maintain student motivation and help achieve subject mastery quickly.

The key to learning any new skill is practice, and more practice. The key to applying that skill effectively is direction from experienced users. This is why TrueBit training involves interactive lab exercises with on-the-spot trainer interaction. This approach has significant advantages over viewing an online video.

Each module provides:

  • a trainer with comprehensive, in-depth, and practical understanding of the subject matter
  • clarity in presentation of knowledge and skills
  • carefully selected material that reinforces student understanding whilst anticipating mistakes
  • interactive programming exercises, relevant and up to date
  • regular assessment that allows training to adapt to student needs

Module Content

Each module lasts for 90 minutes, and involves presentations, break-out discussions, and interactive lab exercises.

Presentations

Presentations will be performed on a large screen. Students receive hard-copies for taking notes.

Break-outs

Some modules involve break-out teams of twos and threes to solve problems and bounce off ideas.

TrueBit Labs

Throughout the module, students will be challenged with exercises and assessments carried out in our online labs.

Course Material

Following completion of the course, students can take away a booklet comprising all printed course material, and a USB key comprising the same material and the lab exercises.
